Mont-Ventoux
A MYSTERIOUS, FAIRYTALE MOUNTAIN
✻
Until the 18th century, Mont-Ventoux frightened and worried inhabitants.
At times it was believed that dwarves and leprechauns lived there.
History has it that the Baume de la Mine, the cave on the North face of the “Giant of Provence” was a gateway to the underworld, a genuine window onto the work of the devil.
Today Mont Ventoux continues to fascinate and its exceptional features are ingrained in the collective consciousness.
